Trip Review: Circle View Guest Ranch

/

I recently embarked on a road trip through the heart of South Dakota, and my adventure led me to the charming Circle View Guest Ranch in Interior. Nestled amidst the rugged beauty of the Badlands, this one-night stay turned out to be an unforgettable experience. Let me spill the beans on this hidden gem!

Getting There

After hours of driving through picturesque landscapes, the Circle View Guest Ranch entrance was a welcome sight. Located just off SD-44 outside of Interior, it’s a short drive from the iconic Badlands National Park. The ranch is perfectly situated for those seeking a peaceful getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life.

The Ranch

Upon arrival, I was greeted by the warmest smiles from the ranch’s friendly staff. They immediately made me feel at home. The ranch exudes a rustic charm that perfectly complements its natural surroundings. There’s a cozy house, cabins, and even the option to camp out under the South Dakota stars.

Accommodations

I opted for one of the rooms in the main house. Each of the seven (7) guestrooms has a private bathroom, AC, WIFI, hairdryers and includes a full ranch breakfast served at 7:30am in the lower level, Kruse family kitchen. My room with 2 Queen beds fitted with crisp linens was a welcomed sight after a long day of driving. The best part? The views of the Badlands surrounding the property. It was a jaw-dropping sight!

Activities

Circle View Guest Ranch sits just 5 miles from the entrance to Badlands National Park and approximately 16 miles from the Minuteman Missile National Historic Site. Wall Drug is roughly 30 miles away and the perfect stop to pick up your South Dakota souvenirs.

Dining

The ranch’s dining experience is something to write home about. Breakfast is served daily at 7:30 A.M. on the lower level of the main house, and the food is hearty and delicious. I can still taste the homemade blackberry butter and biscuits. Picture yourself lingering over breakfast while exchanging stories with fellow travelers.

Sunset and Stargazing

One of the highlights of my stay was relaxing on the large back deck and taking in the breathtaking South Dakota sunset. The hues of red, orange, and purple painted the sky as the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a spellbinding glow over the Badlands and the White River. After dark, the ranch’s lack of light pollution made for some of the best stargazing I’ve ever experienced. The Milky Way stretched out across the sky like a celestial masterpiece.

Final Thoughts

My one-night stay at Circle View Guest Ranch was a delightful escape from the ordinary. It allowed me to connect with nature and savor incredible food. If you’re planning a trip to the Badlands of South Dakota, do yourself a favor and book a night or two at this charming ranch. You won’t be disappointed!
